I was wondering what fish are unusual or oddball fish can be put in this size of tank. I wanted to have others answer because I got bored and wanted to see what others think.

I was thinking of a Trout-perch or a pirate perch but i think that would have to be in my 45 since i will have a copper-nose bluegill in the 150. List what you think below. It has to be any native fish, but I would prefer an unusual one.

(by the way, do not quote me on any website. Just read all of my old posts and i felt very oblivious and stupid about what I would say.)

Why you asked this question if you have some bluegills and a warmouth already? But in this case, a Great Salt Lake bass ( Micropterus nonexistus )

Or a Jonah's man-eating carp (cyprinus killusall)

on second thought, think I will figure this out on my own since you seem to be no help. I just thought it would be fun to see others opinion, but i guess I should have expected stupid responses... or you could give me an actual response. Also the bluegill thing was so i don't have a murdered (by the bluegill) minnow in a 150 with a bluegill I already have.

I can't have a chiller, and my temp goes from 68-75 Fahrenheit. I would love to have sculpin. would a mottled work? they are the only one I can find. I also would want a log-perch.

I'm sorry Leo, sometimes we have an odd sense of humor that doesn't translate well over the internet. Butch does have a bit of a point though, as those large Centrarchids severely limit your options when it comes to interesting fish. I would suggest Grass Pickerel, but seeing as you are in California, they are illegal. Maybe some of the larger shiners like the Common, Striped, Crescent, or Bleeding Shiner would do well. Or possibly some Madtoms, a Stonecat would do particularly well and are common, but Checkered Madtoms are incredibly cool and odd.

I could put some smaller ones in my 45 that i will still have also
I'm moving my 45 gallon fish to my 150, and my 20 gallon fish to my 45. so if i have my 150, i will have an almost empty 45. I only would have fathead minnows that if needed, can be moved to my ponds.

Yall dont need a chiller for sculpins. A mottled sculpin would probably do just fine in a 20 long.

Gavin, I don't know about that. I had my tank hit 80 for two days, and even with 3 airstones and a powerhead my Mottled Sculpins died.

was it 80 all day and night. or did it drop back to 75? That might happen to my tank (the fluctuation, not constant), but i could use a fan and use my 4 air-stones.

Mine would hit 84 when i had a heater set to 80, but it never got to 80 when my 20 gallon was set up without a heater. What if I order a 1.5 inch one, would it slowly aclimate to a warmer temp by the time it gets to summer? It would only get to 78f. I need to know tonight or as soon as possible because i need to order them on http://www.jonahsaqu...te/fishlist.htm

Why not order another different species?

When I say different species, I meant different fish and not scuplins. You can always order the scuplins another day after do homework on them.
