During this recent cold spell we had in the Bay area, my aquarium lab got so cold that several of my tanks dipped down to below 60 degrees. This is too low for some of my fish, but I'd like to keep them under 70 degrees as well. Most of the aquarium heaters I'm seeing in the pet stores don't have settings lower than 68 degrees. I have an older heater with no logo on it, and it can be set to as low as 62 degrees. Does anyone out there know of a brand that may have a similar setting in the low to mid 60s? Thanks!

Joshua, you should invest in a titanium heater with an external controller. They are quite accurate (some within a .5 degree of the set point) and can be set at any temp. Do a quick google search of aforementioned heater and I think you'll like what you find.

Ditto on Fluval brand. I usually just rely on the household ambient temps, but I had to run out and buy three for my livebearer tanks last week when the heat conked out and we were told it would be four days until the fan motor came in. The down side of a manufacturer warranty, you have wait for the manufacturer to send the part. The inside temps dipped down to the mid sixties and I thought that would be too cold for those fish. Anyway, I just checked and they do go down to 65 degrees.

Yeah most of our large system have the external heaters/chillers and controllers. However these are mostly smaller quarantine tanks. So it's a little harder to justify the spending for them.Joshua, you should invest in a titanium heater with an external controller. Thanks Matt! It looks like the Visi-therm heaters are the ones like the antique I have in the lab. That one goes down to 62 and the newer ones only go to 65, but that should be sufficient.http://search.aquati...quarium heaters
Several here go down to 65.
