January 22-26 in Charleston, SC.
Are any of our members attending? Would this be a good opportunity to promote NANFA?
I understand a Darter Restoration presentation will be by Jeff Foltz and one of the authors is Jay DeLong, a deseased NANFA BoD member and valued contributor to NANFA's history.

Fritz will be presenting as well. I will, likely, not make it due to expense and timing.

My wife grew up in nearby Mount Pleasant, so I've had the good fortune to visit the area a number of times. For anyone who hasn't been to Charleston, you can't help but eat well. Also, it's not hard to find a place to throw a seine or scoop a dipnet either, for you brackish water fans.
I mentioned to my family at breakfast this morning, that I missed the demise of the "true" National Aquarium in Washington DC, in the Commerce building, adding that I get as much, even more enjoyment out of seeing a mountain redbelly dace as an 8' tiger shark. The Charleston aquarium has a nice uplands minnow/darter tank, though the species diversity varies from year to year. They have the requisite deep ocean tank as well, of course.

Tom, if you're interested, take a look at this thread about the DC Aquarium's closure.

I had planned on attending but I missed the early registration date and because of the cost increase I can no longer afford to go. Wish I could though.

Would love to go, but work and cost prohibit it.

I studied for the possibility, long drive, big bucks, and sleeping on the presidential floor. I sure would like to hear a report of the event, I think it starts tomorrow? I think a few times NANFA has set up a table, unsure of how productive it would be but i assume it would be.
