A family friend of mine that was previously going to go with a much larger tank that I'm sure I posted about at some point has instead ordered 2 of the 6 foot versions of these: http://www.aquaticec...D-Acrylic-Tanks
That gives us a good amount of space to work with, and I've been brainstorming some stocking lists, but I'm not really sure, as I've never worked with tanks this large. We plan to have one a stream tank with part of the back as a paludarium, the other a heavily planted "swamp" tank. Both will be filtered by fluidized beds and MD 18s, although I think the stream tank may need something stronger. Anyways, I'd like everyone's input on some stocking options.

Tank 1 - Stream Tank
X20 Rainbow Shiners
X10 Mountain Redbelly Dace
X6 St. Frances Orangethroat Darter
X6 Brook Darter
X6 Redline Darter
X6 Banded Darter
X4 Logperch
X2 Central stoneroller
X2 Bluehead Chub
X2 Jumprock
X6 Bluespotted Sunfish
X6 Orangespotted Sunfish
X6 Northern Longear
X6 Bleeding Shiner

Tank 2 - Swamp Tank (My Primary Overstocking Concern)
X4 Central Longear
X4 Louisiana Longear
X4 Missouri Longear
X2 Central Stoneroller
X2 Checkered Madtom
X2-4 Redfin Pickerel
X6 Bleeding Shiner
Maybe x2 Yellow Perch

Let me know what you think, everyone. I'd really like your opinions.

So the tanks are 6' long, but how wide are they? This is just a personal opinion, and what I would do if these tanks were mine. I wouldn't overlap in species between the two tanks (e.g., stonerollers, bleeding shiners, sunfishes). In fact, I'd consider ditching sunfish in the Stream Tank, in particular the bluespotted sunfish. It may be hard to get them fed with some many other fast feeders around. As for the Swamp Tank, that's a lot of mass when those sunfish, pickerel, and perch get grown. Personally, I like large numbers of fewer species. However, I must admit when looking at FarmerTodd's (Todd Crail's) tanks with a large diversity of stream fishes all in spawning garb, it is pretty cool. I'd take it slow when stocking though - that just seems like a ton of fish in each tank.

The tanks are both 2 feet wide. We definitely want sunfishes and stonerollers (cleaning) in both tanks, but we probably should eliminate the bleeding shiners from the swamp tank. You do raise a good point about feeding Bluespotteds in community tanks. We may take them off of the list, too. I think we'll drop the Yellow Perch as well. Thank you for your suggestions.
