Hi, I'm a new member from New England. Really excited about warming water, so reading a lot and making plans for summer. I though others might enjoy my first collection trip (last summer) since I was a kid.
First stop was a small stream in Portland, ME. Caught some sticklebacks (I think 9 fins?). Also caught some Dace? American eel, and crayfish.
Second stop was an ocean cove in Blue Hill, ME. Tide was out. Caught some killifish, a ground fish, a lot of shrimps, and a silvery fish I couldn't identify.
Finally, stopped at a freshwater pond near Blue Hill. Found a killifish, a cute painted turtle hatchling, and observed some spawning sunfish.
Underwater video of curious sunfish:
Can't wait for summer. I'd love to meet up with others in NE for some collecting this summer--lots to learn.

I'd love to get together and collect this summer too.
As for ID's. The dace is an eastern blacknose dace. the smaller stickle back is definately a ninespine, the dark striped killies are mummichog and I think the light striped is a banded. The silvery fish may be a herring of some sort, not sure on the flounder. (most people say summer or winter flounder, but their are at least 6 species in the region if not more).
