I have a small outdoor pond and had koi in it at one time. Now I am considering some native fish and such like Redside Dace and others. I like the Redside because, from what I've read, they leap from the water to catch insects...sounds like it would be fun to watch as I sip a scotch! I would also like some algae eaters and bottom feeders...any suggestions? Color is a plus but, not completely necessary. Something that builds nests would be awesome! I live in Chautauqua, NY so water temp takes a large dip in the winter though I have the ability to keep the water above freezing. Thanks for any input!
