Hello all since 2010 I have been researching and developing a breeding and rearing system for Bluegill. And now I am glad to say that I have achieved my goal and am now doing a kickstarter to generate funds to get my business off the ground.

For anyone interested in my project please visit :https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/930232225/aquaculture-for-tomorrow

Some notes:
- I joined this forum in 2010, and have had a topic on getting bluegill to breed which you can still find on here.
- The system that I have developed is designed mainly for Bluegill but is applicable to other sunfish species including greens and red ears.
- This forum WILL be cited, and included in the comprehensive guide which shall be awarded to any backer which donates 15 or more dollars. (Additionally this guide shall only be created if the kickstarter is successful!)
- The comprehensive guide shall include everything you will need to produce Bluegills in recirculating systems, based on four years of empirical research and evidence and have absolutely every piece of information you would need to be a successful Bluegill producer no matter your budget or means.

Thank you for your time, and please share this with your friends!

I shared your kickstarter.

Is it possible to add donation amounts greater than $15?
Example: $50 for a full page ad at the end of the pdf or in between chapters. Businesses get tax benefits from advertisements, I discovered this spring at H&R Block.

Also, why not add a colorful species that could be either eaten as food or sold to the pet market? A selective breeding campaign (remove and eat the ugliest) could produce amazingly beautiful longear sunfish.
Example: $60 and you get 6 juvenile longear sunfish shipped to you in August. Here is my guide how to ship fish for $12: http://forum.nanfa.o...ow-i-ship-fish/

Last suggestion: $100 and you get a grow bed fittable to a 55+ gallon tank shipped to you. If you contact Straw Hat Farmer at http://growdinner.com/ , he can talk you through how to build the grow beds for <$30 in parts. Then you ship it to people (<$30?) and they get the ability to donate 100-30-30= $40 to you and get their own aquaponics bed for their tank.

I would suggest some sterile hybrids involving longear or pumpkinseed. Some of those are down right sexy yet reach edible dimensions. Since California is involved you may want consider ploidy manipulation. A two parts pumpkinseed x 1 part redear grows very well, sterile and is visually appealing even when tank reared.

you can add donation amounts to whatever you whish. I never thought of giving advertisements in the pdf; however, thought it is not listed I have no issue of putting in adds on request in the PDF from contributors so long as they let me know.

The issue with shipping fish is that I do not believe i can legally ship my fish out of state without getting a pathology on the fish; however, as i just stated I am willing to offer additional awards to any backers in the future within reason and upon request.

I do not believe we have the pumpkinseed in California (at least non of the producers here are breeding them), so I would have to get permission to have them imported to the state which is highly unlikely.

Thank you for sharing it is greatly appreciated!

You might want to look into joining NANFA, and and looking at our grant options.
