I was wondering how do you Identify between bullhead catfish species. I've seen some yellowish bullheads that are said to be black bullheads. I searched spotted bullheads and some look like my florida brown bullhead that is black and white.

It seems that it is hard to identify them by color, so I was wondering how to identify bullhead catfish form other bullhead catfish species.

Some populations of black bullheads are very yellow, often much more yellow than any yellow bullhead. However these "yellow" black bullheads always have dark chin barbels.

I have photos of all 7 species in my NANFA Gallery and need to add a few recent ones of Spotted Bullhead. Yes I am including the White cat as the 7th because they are the same genus.
