Any help appreciated. Fish is about 5-6 inches and found in public waters.

It looks like a fat sleeper (Dormitator maculatus) to me, though I don't have any direct experience with the species.

Definitely a fat sleeper. I have one in my tanks right now, it has been in FW for a year and a half now (caught in FW too)
