Hm is Ed Cummings dipnet site inactive cause I sent them an email and havent got a reply

I also like the Perfect Dipnet. However, I use a 4x4 seine more now than I use a dipnet. Look into that option too. A 4x4 seine is easy to handle by yourself.

Usually I build my own nets by boiling and bending wood for the hoop, and carving out a handle. I know that you probably won't be able to do this now, but it is a great skill to learn, and some very strong nets can be constructed with custom designs to circumvent fast paced deterioration.

Can you post some pics of your hand-made nets? How does the hoop attach to the handle?
