Found north of Nashville TN. Could swear it looks like a platy

To me it does not look like a barrens. They are extremely rare as well. Were you in the barrens Plateau? It does look like a live-bearer to me lol, body does seem a little long though. Any other pics?

Naw. Looks more like Poecilia or like you mentioned Xiphophorus.

I wasn't. A trib of the red river in northern Tn. Almost in Kentucky. Will take another photo soon. I'll go back and snag another one.

Isn't Variatus Platy most cold tolerant?

I was five miles from Kentucky at that point, cold tolerance only goes so far I think. Meh, I went back and found another one. Once in a specimen container you could tell it was a platy. Sunset marigold from the look of it.
