It's that time again KY NANFA members.

For my 4th straight year I'll be participating in Clean the Green. This is a great event that helps one of the most diverse rivers in the U.S. It is sponsored by The KY Nature Conservancy and Kentucky Waterways Alliance.

This year there is a little added NANFA flair. Not only will I be setting up my native fish aquarium and information table. The official Green River cleanup T-Shirts will feature images of Darters taken by Nanfa members Uland Thomas and Dustin Smith. I have seen the mock-up, and it's sweet.

TNC Release:
On August 9, join us and our partner Kentucky Water Alliance for a unique Kentucky adventure while helping to conserve and protect one of the Commonwealth's greatest natural gems, The Green River. Come prepared to enjoy a glorious paddle while helping "Clean the Green!"

Where: Meet us at American Legion Park, located on Highway 417 in Greensburg, KY.

What: Volunteers will meet to clean up the Green River, one of the most biologically diverse rivers in the country. The event is free and each participant will receive a free canoe rental (with shuttle provided), lunch, a commemorative T-shirt, a water bottle, plus a chance to win a kayak/pfd/paddle package.

What do I bring:
- pair of gloves
- sunscreen
- insect repellent
- a canoe or kayak (if you have one)
- ...and wear clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty!

Let me know also if you wish to attend. I'll be hanging around for collecting and/or snorkeling after the event.

Me and my wife would like to attend but the registration site says... "We're sorry, the deadline for buying tickets for this event has passed." What do I need to do? We have kayaks If needed.
