Hello. I was wondering what the the growth rate of redear sunfish is. The situation is I was going to grow them in my 20 to put in my 150. Since I found them for sale at 0.25in to 0.5in, I would have to put them in my 20 gallon until they grow big enough to be with my still growing 6in smallmouth bass. Do you think they will grow big enough at one point that I can transfer them straight from the 20 to the 150? If not then I guess I will wait until there are some larger fish for sale.

I think smb will kill it. But if they grow as fast as greens by December.

Fed properly well you can get one to 6" by 6 months post-hatch.
