I have been catching a few of these lately in a local system. I live in Fayetteville, Ar and the fish were caught in Clear Creek and where it runs into the Illinois River.

Bluegill, redear and longear are in that system

Bluegill and green in that critters woodpile. Possibly coppernose bluegill in area or have the fish acquired as fingerlings from a hybrid sunfish producer (Malones Fish Farm)? The coppernose would make for a funny look in the eyes of Yankies. Otherwise not an F1.

I did forget to add that those are 3 separate fish. I have photo's of several others.

I don't know about longears but they looks like some green x bluegill hybrids here.

It looks like a green x bluegill, but heavy on the green side. Maybe a greengill back crossed with a green?
