Ok so I am going to my lfs in hopes that they will have some swamp darters, and I am going to quarintine in a small 1 gallon tub because its the biggest thing I got, I will have a air stone in there, but I have more questions, should I imediatly just feed prepared fooded, or should I try some frozen fooods or something? I couldn't get a lot because I'm still kinda broke, I could get some live brine shrimp if that would help them transition, but I don't know if they will eat any, will they eat live brine shrimp or frozen foods? Also should I add any substrate to the quarintine tank? Plants? Caves?

Swamps won't take anything like flake food for months if ever. And in my experience they're not big on frozen stuff at first either. Small earthworms, black worms or tubifex work better than anything else. And they like hiding out in crevices or small caves more than most darters, since they really truly do live in swamps with snags which is different from most darters. If you have plants, sure, why not.

Ok, so should I try the brine shrimp? I will put a cave and some plants in the quarintine, I am also breeding some pond snail to feed to them, I am also going o try and dig up.some earth worms to feed to them, also should i put some plastic wrap on top with a couple holes poked in it? So they dont jump out?

Oh and I have new life spectrum therra a 1mm pellets I couple try and transition them too.

Ok well they said they always come in dead, so I will have to wait till my dad will finally take me fishing, until then I will keep breeding snails and looking for good earthworm spots.
And on another note my mom told me some people made a rebelion at my church and dumped the ponds there! I put $50 worth of fish and plants in there !!!!! I am so T'ed off right now.

Whenever you do get around to having them I'd not try dry at all. Most darters only take to frozen of live and those that do eat dry most of the time do poorly on it. My pair of swamps eats brine shrimp and bloodworms.

My experience has been that they are immediately enthusiastic about frozen food, and never take dry.

Mine love frozen thawed bloodworms. I dice the bloodworms while they are still frozen. Mine also like mosquito larvae and earthworms, but it is so gross to chop up earthworms that small.

my wild caught swamp darters eagerly come to the surface for flake, but they also like the crushed mini cichlid pellets, they don't hide much , prowl the bottom ,chase each other or hang out on top of most anything
