Over the last month or so, on and off (mostly off), I've been building a DIY hex tank out of scrap copper. I finally got a round to finishing the stand yesterday, and I'm calling it "done" now. 12 feet or 1/2 pipe, about 3 sq. feet of salvaged roofing cooper, Home Depot glass, Cheap SMD LEDS, thrift store power supply, vintage fish finial. The joints are either sweated with silver bearing (plumbing) solder, or brazed.

It's pretty small, at a bit less 4.5 gallons, so I think this one will be planted very heavily and then stocked with Elassoma sp.

That's a beautiful piece! I can see some tall plants growing thickly to the surface and some happy Elassoma patrolling the bottom.

Wow, that's impressive. You did a great job. It will look really nice with plants and fish.
