Thanks! This was a practice project. Now it time to do my 72 gallon. Still undecided on what exactly I'm going to do.

A couple southern red-belly dace and a spotfin shiner would like nice in there.

I love how your DIY background came out. You should build one of those for who helped you catch those fish.........just kidding.......but not really.

Anytime your ready Josh! I would be more then happy to help you out. After all it was your kycreeks.com that really got me into stream fish.

I just finished my 72 gallon background. Check it out. It's titled "72 gallon bow front build"...lol I also just finished a "cave" themed background for a friend of mine. It turned out good. It consists of stalagmites and stalactites. I have had plenty of practice so yours should turn out even better.

Why not submit an article on this set up to American Currents? We are always looking for good things like this.

Actually, I would like to see a whole build article, from planning to background to set up to stocking... etc.

But would settle for at least the background build.

Great! I love tank design articles. Submitting is so easy this tech-ignorant sap can do it. Type up your article, save it in word, and attach it in an email to Fritz or Kon. Or Olaf, I would assume. Also attach any photos or diagrams. If they have any questions, suggestions, or anything else they will contact you. If you want someone with a NANFA background to proof it before you submit, just ask around. There will be somebody willing to do so. (I myself am indebted to Michael Wolfe, who was a great help/encouragement to me getting my Fish in Focus piece done.) I would be happy to be a "test subject" for you if you wanted one.

I'm 99% positive the correct way to do this is to seek out the nearest Regional Rep/BOD member, drive to their house, and let them photograph and document the background build process and test the background in their aquarium permanently.

Yup, that's all. It's in the NANFA constitution.......somewhere.
