A short video of some Red River Pupfish and Plains Killifish from western Oklahoma.

The white stuff floating on the water is salt crystals.

The water is saltier than seawater, does anyone know what kind of aquatic vegetation is shown in the video?

I'm getting a message that the video is private.

Sorry about that.  Should work now.

Awesome video! That's so cool. The super high salinity is crazy. Is that the location you said is hardly ever that clear? Are there any locations with clear water and western species (even just plains killifish) within a few hours of the convention site?

Yeah, I've only seen it that clear once.  If you really want to find them you have to go that far.

They've been introduced into the Cimmaron and are pretty abundant, but it's a long ways too.

I've collected them in the South Canadian River (not clear) as far east as the confluence with Lake Eufaula, which was a huge eastward range extension for them, but that was during an extreme prolonged drought about 7 years ago and as far as I know, they've not been collected that far east since.  I would head for Altus.  If your up for the trip sometime, I'd like to tag a long.

That's some really cool stuff! A stream saltier than ocean water. I love to see that myself, someday. Thanks for posting.
