Oh I'm both enabler and addict. I love to say yes when he begs for stuff but I also love the critters themselves. The trick is to know which things will work.
That net, or others like it are all I ever use. A five spot at the pet store and a roll of electrician tape. Slip the net and tape in your suit case and find a stick when you get to your travel destination, works well for air travel.
The fish in the tank are a self sustaining colony of southwest Florida sailfin mollies and a pair of spotfin butterflyfish collected as strays.
Sean, it's very important to know which crab your dealing with. The common spider crab and the hermits that I keep show no interest in catching live fish. The fish steal food right out of "Spidey's" mouth and he doesn't even raise a claw. However there are many other species which would gladly snatch a fish.
