Under the "New for 2015" section,
"At the time of this printing, DNR was considering a statewide ban on the catch, use, or possession of live crayfish."

I think that the goal is to prevent the spread of invasive crayfish. It's perfectly OK to possess dead ones for fishing, but no more fishing live crawdads.
Honestly, it doesn't affect me much because I fish with artificials. I was curious how it would affect the MD native fish keepers.
