Have you all seen this?

I can only dream of having a local natives tank like this...darters, shiners, dace, etc.  The only problem would be that I'd have the urge to wade it for smallmouth bass fishing!

How would one go about replicating this set up?  I've been dreaming about it since I found the tank on a Youtube video.  I've been looking for info on the build, but haven't seen anything.

Anyway, I thought it would be a cool thing to share.

I've seen this before. It is truly astonishing. From what I can tell, it functions through having the tank at an angle as well as an incredibly high power pump.

There is a much larger version of that about 50ft long at a Darby Creek Metro Parks at their nature center just southwest of Columbus OH. They have a big pool at the bottom with predatory fish like longnose gar, smallmouth bass, and various Lepomis. The flowing portion has various darters and cyprinids. They periodically switch fish out from Big Darby Creek behind the center and nothing goes in or out of the tank from anywhere else. It is a pretty unique display. I have visited it a couple times and the fish have not always looked great but the display alone is worth seeing. It is somewhat new (about 2 years old) so I suspect it will get better as they better learn to care for the fish in it over time.

Thanks Brian.  Wow, now I need to visit Columbus!  I found a blog about that exhibit...but the camera links aren't working for me.  I didn't find much info about the tank other than this link, but if anyone wants to see what it looks like you can Google images for "Battelle Darby Creek Living Stream Exhibit".  There are some interesting photos.  If you search YouTube, there is a long video about the nature center, but you can scroll to the tank exhibit and there are some short segments showing the tank.

My house wouldn't be big enough for a tank like that!  It would be cool to learn that set up.
