I recently joined NH Audubon and their spring newsletter lists two upcoming fish events. Both of which will be held at Amoskeag Fishways in Manchester.

 

2015 Fish Festival Featuring Splash and Dash: April 30th. Biologists deliver fish to stock the fish ladder.costs 3 dollars a person 6 per family.

 

Fishways Funday: Fish Frenzy: May 21, All it says about it are "fish are fascinating, especially those who live in the Merrimack River". costs 8 dollars per family.

I got a new Audubon Newsletter, Amoskeag Fishways is planning alot of events. Here are the fish related ones.

 

2016 Fish Festival, featuring Splash and Dash. April 28. Cost 3 dollars per person 6 per family.they will meet in the iupper parking lot at 10 am, create fish hats, noisemakers, and banners, and parade down to the center. It will be accompanied by live music, local dignitaries, and fishways partners. Retiring president of NH Audubon Mike Bartlett will be the grand marshall and deliver the first fish to stock their ladder. Fish games, surprises, and activities will continue throughout the day.

 

Learn to Fly Fish. March 23,30, April 6, 13 6-8 PM. Members of Trout Unlimited will be the instructors teaching about fly fishing equipment, fly tying, sharing secret strategies and techniques, Where fish live and how to read the water. Ages 9 and up.

 

Fish Season. May 2nd- June 18. 9 am - 5 PM. The center will be open 7 days a week during the migration season. Walk in visitors are always welcome and guided tours are offered to groups of 10-30 participants. 

 

World Fish Migration Day. May 21. 11am-3pm They will host fish migration games and art projects for the kids and natural history and fish life cycle presentations for all ages.

 

Sea Lamprey Appreciation Day. May 28. 11 am- 3 pm. Cost 3 dollars per person, 6 dollars per family. Hold a live three foot long fish and learn about its unique physical nature and life cycle. 

 

Fishway Fundays: Fin-tastic Voyage. 8 dollars per family, ages 4-5. May 19th. 12:30-3 PM. Discover what make fish special and which species make the long journey from the ocean to the Merrimack River. Even see them under water in the fish ladder.

 

Family Fun Nights Fabulous Fish. May 6 6:30-* PM  8 dollars per family. Find out what makes fish unique and which ones live in our local river. We will even make fishy artwork to understand how fish survive in a river habitat.

 

Family Fishtravagenza. 8 dollars per family. May 20. 6:30-8 PM Find out who goes the farthest and more as we lead you on a tour, play fish games, and look for migrating fish in our ladder.
