If you know anything about Clear Lake hitch (Lavinia exilicauda chi) in California, or Relict dace (Relictus solitarius)in Nevada, this may be of interest to you. Scroll down to the table of contents and you can link right to each decision.

If I'm reading this right, US FWS wants more hard data on these two species; that they feel Clear Lake Hitch warrants protection, but the Relict Dace does not (even though they say there is cause in several categories?).

Did I get that right? My little pea-brain ain't up to legalese right now...

It appears that the USFWS determined that the petition to identify the Clear Lake hitch as a threatened species may be warranted and requested more information.

Additionally, they determined that the petition to identify the relict dace as an endangered species may be warranted and requested more information, but emergency action was not supported.

Thanks. The Clear Lake Hitch seemed straight forward enough, but the wording for Relict Dace gave me some trouble. I missed the "emergency action" part...
