Welcome! Lots of Elassoma knowledge on here, though I myself am not versed at all on 'em. You've jumped in at a pretty slow time for the forum- NANFA's annual national convention is just getting into full swing in Oklahoma, so most folks will be chasing fish and travelling rather than posting about fish right now. But to tie you over, search the forums. Should be plenty of info if you haven't found it yet. Especially about E. gilberti, but the others as well.

If you are interested in Pygmy sunfish, then you may want to check out other native swamp fishes like Aphredoderus (pirate perch), Enneacanthus Sunfishes, and other such "tropical-like" natives

Welcome. As Matt mentioned there is a ton of Elassoma info if you use the search function. We had a member who was very diligent about posting her experience with E. Gilberti. Seek and you will find. Good luck.
