Hey everyone 2 weeks ago I got a yellow perch out of a nearby lake, I brought him home to befriend my pumpkinseed sunfish. He was fine the whole way home-about 10 minutes- but since then it's been extremely lethargic. Pretty much laying on the bottom of the tank. My water parameters are, and have been perfect since he was introduced. He has not ate anything since he's been in my care, could anyone guide me in the right direction to get him healthy?

Perch are very fickle in my experience. What size is he? They tend to adapt poorly to aquarium life if brought in to captivity from the wild over 2-3".

He's about 3 or 4 inches. I dropped 2 guppies in to see if he'd enjoy having to get his own food. And he took them and is more active now. I may just have to feed him live food.

My son caught a 6" yellow perch on memorial day weekend that he wanted to keep.  I put him in my 75 gallon.  He tucked up under the filter return and pretty much stayed there for about 3 weeks.  He gradually became more and more comfortable and is now swimming around the tank and eating raw shrimp.

The point I was trying to make is that this perch took a LONG time to adjust to tank life.  Give him some time.
