Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the NANFA forum. I've been keeping fish since childhood and have been in the planted aquarium/aquascaping scene for about 3 years.

I'm currently a member of Aquarium Advice and a member/chairman of NJAGC (New Jersey Aquatic Gardeners Club).

I have never kept native fish before, but of late (past year) have very interested in keeping Elassoma gilberti.

I have since contacted an online retailer where I will mostly likely be purchasing them, along with Heterandria Formosa.

Would anyone have any suggestions/advice on these two species? Thanks!

Do a search for that species and you will find a lot of info.  There was a massive thread: http://forum.nanfa.o...rti#entry102406with over 1,000 posts about this species.

H. formosa need water.  (Joking aside, very simple to keep so you can put your attention towards the E. gilberti).
