I'm not surprised about this.

I am not surprised either, but it sure is a bummer.

Well, that sucks.

However, that baby snakehead is honestly kind of cute. Bad news, maybe, but cute.

^ that was the problem with Snakeheads in the pet industry.  The brightly colored juveniles were being sold at 2-3".  And it wasn't until the purchaser brought it home and one day it ate "Mr. Bubble Face" the $50 dollar Oranda that said purchaser dumps "Mr. Teeth" into the local waterway.

Littlen, one problem with your statement is that the original Potomac snakeheads didn't came from pet industry. They came from oriental food markets (Chinatown fish markets). You could be surprised that they sells live illegal fishes instead of being frozen.

butch, I am aware that our Potomac infestation came from live Channa argus being released in Crofton Pond up in MD after unneeded specimens were dumped.  I was speaking in more general terms with other Snakehead species (and various predatory fish in general) that were once prevalent in the pet industry.  This is more relevant for Snakehead sp. in So. FL. like the Bullseye.

More specifically, I was pointing out the harmless comment Betta132 made that has gotten  a lot of invasives released over the years.  'Jonh J. Consumer' walks into 'World-o-Fish' and says, "Awww, look at how cute that little Snakehead is."  And that's where the problem begins.
