Wow, a lot of my back burner video projects are coming together now! Here's a short video package of our mobile fish exhibit and some of the other activities associated with the program...

Nice! Was that a pikeminnow at around 2:05? What was the slime machine? The fish shadow was a cool touch, too! Great work with the kids, and great video! Who knew west coast fishes were into ska-reggae?

Thanks! This edit definetly had some fine touches I was trying to establish. It was all fish footage during the verses and kids through the glass/kid activities during the chorus. I also placed the footage of the smaller containers inside the tank during the breakdown in the song. At the very least, it put me in the mood for the upcoming mobile fish exhibit season this fall!

 

That was definitely a Sacramento pikeminnow you saw. I think I counted 4 or 5 CA native fish species in this particular footage. I believe the slime is made from a packet of crystals called "Goop." I think it might be similar to the stuff firefighter planes/choppers use when they unload water. I know when you concentrate it with smaller amounts of water you certainly get slime! Someone else told me it's like the stuff they use in "All Clear" and other water clarity treatments in aquarium stores. I can't confirm that though.
