Fall is almost here!

Time to be ordering your calendars for next year! Go to our homepage and hit the button for the 2016 NANFA calendar. You'll be more popular. Your teeth will shine. Your breath will be minty. Your crush will fall for you. Oh wait, that's the NANFA toothpaste we're launching next year. Minty darter flavor...

Just a bump on this guys and gals.

These ship at first class parcel rate, which at present pretty much means 3 to 4 days. Tomorrow is the last recommended day for gift ordering. Orders placed Friday or Saturday won't get shipped til Monday, 21 December. If you live in the east you'll probably still get it in time for Christmas, but there' a chance you won't. Further west than the Mississippi and it's still quite possible to have your finny joy by 25 December, but by no means is it guaranteed!

SALE SALE SALE

NANFA 2016 Calendars have been dropped to half price... imagine the savings, we are only 1/24th the way through the year, but you are getting a 1/2 off discount!  And you will still be able look at 100% of the fine fine artwork that is included in each and every month.

NANFA Calendars are now only $10!

Man that is a too dramatic drop!  Folks will be inclined to skip 2 weeks of 2017.  But then again when these are gone they is gone.

I bought 4, one for me and 3 for fishy family or friendly folks.

Martin, I do not know.  This is Josh B and Matt K project. I am just the web lackey.

Casper, same answer, I am just following instructions here.  Don't shoot the messenger.

At this point, its about moving inventory. The longer the year goes on, the less chance we'll have to unload these. We have made a little money at this point, even if we don't sell anymore, not sure exactly what the figures are.

A couple quick thoughts:

I would have liked to knock the price down to $15 for the last two weeks in January and then to $10 in February. But that would've been an inconvenience for our computer lackey and I wasn't going to ask him. Plus, it presented a possible headache for me and Tom trying to keep up with who paid what. (But I doubt it. Still...)

I feel as if most folks buying the calendar were doing it either A, to directly to support NANFA, and would do so at full price regardless of future markdowns; or B, for holiday gifts, and would do so at full price to have them for the actual holidays. Thus, most sales of NANFA calendars were over in mid-December. At $15 or $10, any sales at this point are gravy. I don't envision many of our members waiting two weeks into the new year to hose us out of a couple bucks. (I did want to wait at least a couple weeks so as not to insult the full-price payers.) Even if they do, this is a fundraiser/awareness when all is said and done.

I am thinking of a couple ways to peddle these locally that would involve no shipping. Prices there would vary, but be substantially less than $15. Again, these would be extra sales to a non-NANFA inclined market, and therefor represent extra money for us. Even at Crazy Eddie pricing. Seriously, at this point, I'd rather have a nickel in NANFAs pocket than unsold calendars on its shelf. The unsold represent neither sales nor awareness.

Still too early to give a final financial tally. (Just sold two calendars at markdown pricing.) We have definitely posted a profit. A final number will involve sorting through the varying shipping costs which I have covered this whole time, and what we finally sell. we aren't going to rake in thousands, but we will clear a couple hundred, I'm thinking. The $400 production cost has long been made back.

Also, realizing we are likely to have a couple left on hand no matter what, Josh and I would like to donate a few of them to schools, pediatrician offices, et cetera as a combo outreach/"plant a seed" kind of effort. I'd like to do that before Jan ends so they don't look like a second hand present. We still have several calendars left, but I'd like to know our "give away" quantity BEFORE we get too much further.

Correction- We've actually sold five calendars since last night. I'm guessing that's fifty clams NANFA wouldn't have had without the markdown.

Should we think of offering a membership and calendar deal? Knock 5 off the calendar. Some may jump on it. Matt, what is the break even price? Send that too me via PM.

I confess I simply forgot about this.

So I just ordered a calendar at regular price.

Well, I wanted too. But to make PayPal take $20, I had to put in a quantity of 2. I was expecting a "do you have any special instructions for the seller" form to pop during the transaction, so I could explain what I was trying to do.... but it didn't.

So FYI to whoever is shipping these things out .... please note I really only expect one calendar.

Just curious, is there is a plan to do 2017 calendars this fall?

There may be. I was open to letting others have a stab at it and there was interest from very capable folks, but various circumstances nipped it in the bud. That was late summer; since then I have dropped the ball but am considering putting one together if there is interest and board support for it. Planning on talking to one BOD member this weekend.
