I'm redoing my 33. I am making a "rocky shore" theme aquarium, but still keeping freshwater (I have fish I can't get rid of). The aquarium will have only 1 log and a rocky substrate (+3in rocks with sand and gravel filling the gaps) What fish would do best in this?

You're going to need a few good hiding spots for just about anything.

What fish do you have that you can't get rid of? That will affect compatibility.

A long tank like that, especially with a "rocky" aquascape, is perfect for darters and a nice school of minnows, shiners or dace. That's what I keep. I love that footprint.
