Hello everybody, just wanted to let you know that the partnership between NANFA and Ryan's Fishmap.org is now in full swing.  NANFA has taken over the hosting type stuff for Ryan and in turn, he is working with NANFA and we all hope to make this tool even better than it is...and it's already an awesome tool.

Ryan is still the owner of the site and domain, NANFA is just hosting it on our server.  You'll now see the direct link to Fishmap on the tabs above, and there is one of the NANFA homepage.  When you visit Fishmap, you'll see a beautiful new NANFA logo on it.

This is an on-going partnership.  Meaning, we are hoping to add new features and be able to use verified NANFA collection data to include on the maps.  This means that, through some type of verification, we can add collection records from us NANFA members.  The details will be ironed out as we move forward, but we'll keep you updated.

I wanted to make one more note here.  There have been a bunch of people involved in this, well beyond the BoD.  Ryan and Sajjad have done almost all the technical stuff, and for that we are grateful.  There have been many NANFA members volunteer to help with multiple aspects of this project and give us tips, advice, and opinions.  We, board of directors, encourage you to get involved and voice your opinions and let us know what we can do to further the goal and mission of NANFA.  I just personally wanted to thank all of you that have been involved in this in one shape or another.  We are excited about this partnership and look forward to making it better.

If you'd like to read the original thread on this partnership, it's found HERE.

Thanks Josh!

As usual if anybody sees anything broken with the site, let me know. Looking forward to the cool projects we have together.

So stoked 'bout this! If you haven't already, check out Fishmap. Ryan's labor of love is just fantastic already, and the possibility of using NANFA data to increase knowledge of fish ranges is truly exciting!

This sounds amazing! I'm really glad to see this partnership. I hope our park district will be able to add to the database during our surveys.
