We are having a gathering along South Chick on Saturday, November the 6th.

It is basically from 3pm to 9pm.  That way folks can enjoy the late afternoon fall colors and then we will build a bonfire about 6pm, which will be near dark with the time change.  Roasted weiners, smores, stories and songs.  Bring something to share.

The creek is alongside the pavilion and with enough interest we can drag a seine.  We could start earlier.

I plan on camping overnight with my daughter and others would be welcome too.

Sunday offers options but me thinks snorkeling is not one of them!

Enjoy some campfire and leaf-peeping for me!

Postponed to this Saturday as the creek rose 2 weeks ago.  Most of the leaves are down but a good bit of color remains.

The fire will burn bright.

We had gathering creekside on a cloudy afternoon.

The blazing fire burned away the drizzle and lifted our spirits high, singing This Land is Our Land with peaceful enthusiasm!

All the leaves were gone, and the sky began to grey.
The creek had risen high on this autumn day.
We had gathering creekside, just along the wooded way.
Though the rain began to fall, we decided to stay.
Chickamauga dreamin', on such a peaceful day.
Yeah.

Gathered round the flames we began to sing.
Lifting our spirits high, as the rain began to fade.
Pushing back the darkness, we called into the night.
And heard the owl's reply, through the distant moonlight.

Chickamauga dreamin', by the warm firelight.
Dreamin' well into the cool night.
Chickamauga dreamin', feeling everything is right.
Dreamin' fine, on this beautiful night.

Nice Casper. I can pull a thing or two off similar, but never from scratch. You pull off some pretty poetic stuff from scratch as well.
