Has anyone bought any decorative rocks from craft stores that have a coating of wax on them? I went back to Michael's Craft store to get somemore green river rocks. I had them before and had to run hot water over them a couple of times to remove the wax coating, which I think is to make the rocks more vibrant and protect them during shipping. Does anyone know if the wax would hurt the fish or inverts if they are left on the rocks?

I do not know and am no expert but I do not think wax would hurt fish. Especially when you have removed most of it. Again this is just a guess.

I have used them for years in my tropical tank, and have never had a problem. I only gave them a quick rinse.
