Hey everyone, I may be in Crossville, Tennessee around the 16th and 17th. My dad had some materials training for his construction business, so I figured this would be a good opportunity to drive down do the land of biodiversity and save a bit on gas and hotel. While he is at training, I'd like to see some of the wonders of the area. I like snorkeling and just general fish-looking, so anyone that has good spots for either, let me know! Same goes for meeting up. Casper, I'm looking at you! If people have spots for some of the bordering states that are more collector-friendly, I would also be interested in that. Looking forward to my first - of many - trips to the great South East.

Crossville is about 1 hour north of Chattanooga.  Lots of good streams surrounding it.  You should consider driving down and visiting the world's best NANFA endorsed freshwater public aquarium, the Tennessee Aquarium... but only the first building as opposed to the 2nd addition.  You could also visit the cement pond and South Chickamauga Creek as a bonus.

Thank you much, Casper, I think I will have to take you up on your offer of a visit. Too good to refuse!

Over a month away and after the NANFA NH convention.  Keep me posted as plans firm up.  Maybe your Dad can add a day so he can visit as well.

Your days... June 16 and 17 is a Thursday and Friday.  Saturday and Sunday i will be leading snorkeling trips at the Conasauga River.  Likely i will be camping there Saturday night.  The group attending is Georgia Conservancy, one of my favorite bunch of enthusiastic folks.  You may want to adjust your plans to stay a bit longer as both you and your Dad would be welcome to participate.  We supply wetsuits and masks and snorkels.  It runs from about 9 til 2 and i always stay longer, sometimes going downstream to snorkel other sites.

I am also posting this here as some other regional NANFans may want to sync with this weekend event, especially with the camping option.

I also want to thank Bryce as he will be assisting me on my first guide of 2016, soon on the 14th of May.  We have a bunch of 7th graders with an excellent science teacher.
