I will be out with my seine this weekend sampling a few area's. No license is required to fish in Ohio on those days, BUT you must be a resident of Ohio. All catch limits still apply!

Local area club is going to meet in Lorain county. I will post more info when I get it.

We are going to meet at the McDonalds in Elyria, Ohio. 1010 East Broad Street. Time, 9:30 AM. We will be departing around 10:00 AM. We will be going to 2 or 3 sites for collecting. Hope to see some new faces!

More people showed than I thought would show! We had a good collection trip! Got several species of darters, VERY PRETTY, a number of different minnows that no one seemed to care about, mottled sculpins, madtoms, a very beautiful central stone roller male,  and a few catfish. Even caught a few silversides which I love! The 1 or 2 sunfish and bass that were caught were released. A crayfish that I could not recognize too. Unfortunately, I was without net when the 18 inch trout  decided to leave our seining area. We hit 2 collecting sites, and both were running high water from recent rains. My crappy polypropylene seine had no problem bagging with all the current running through it!

I managed to keep my tradition going by falling into the river in this case, at a NANFA collecting trip I fell into a swamp. Only this time I did it 3 times, guess I'm making up for lost years...

The good news was, my hip waders kept the water out as much as they kept the water in. LOL

Very nice, Guba! And it's good to know somebody besides me frequently tests the "hydrolic" carrying capacity of their waders! Be careful, yo!
