Curious if anyone has had any experience/luck with breeding Swamp darters? The Swamp Darter by Robert E. Schmidt has some great details about observing their spawning habits, but I'm hoping for details about tank setup: substrate, filtration, water parameters, tank setup for raising fry, etc. I know they deposit the eggs on plants, wondering if real plants are needed or if synthetic might cut it?

I received 20 Swamp Darters a few months ago, they were quarantined in a 20 gallon and originally destined to join a community tank. After reading about their relatively common spawning habits in the aquarium, I'd like to keep them separate and try to see if I can have any success with it. (Especially since they are so short lived.) Any opinions or resources would be greatly appreciated. (I've got Marvin Gaye ready to play if that's what it takes)

They specifically require Barry White.

I have not bred them, but they get into condition well on commercial frozen foods including beefheart, mysis and brine shrimp.
