Hello everyone. It's been while since I posted here. How is the spring catch going?

In my english class I am doing a manual on setting up a native fish tank. I will be referencing NANFA throughout the manual. It is geared towards people who are interested in setting up a fish tank, but instead of tropicals, I showcase natives. The end of my manual will showcase some of the species found here in Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee. Since this is a manual for beginners, I'm looking for fish that are easy to find (e.g. common).

I was wondering if some of you would mind photographing some of your fish that are found in Kentucky, Ohio, or Tennessee. My manual will not have an extensive list of species, but I would like to showcase at least one or two of each kind: Darters, shiners, madtoms, topminnows, and daces are the species I plan to show. Also, I would like a photograph of a fish tank already set up for the title page of my manual.

You will be shown as the photographer for any photo you contribute to my project. Appropriate ownership of the photos will be demonstrated. If you decide you want to help me, post your photograph with the name of the fish, and your first and last name so I can give you appropriate credit. I am unsure if the Forums allow something such as this. If this is the case, I apologize, and would it be possible to private message members about this? Is that OK? I appreciate any help you all can give me in regards to my manual. I know that by coming here I am receiving the best of the native fish community. Thanks for your all's input!

Thanks for your contributions, Matt. Those are very beautiful darters!

On a side note, once I get this manual completed, I plan to put it in pdf format, and let you all have a copy of it.

Just at thought... With the knowledge base (and opinions) present on this forum you may want to post a draft

Hi Adam,

I have a pretty extensive list of fishes occurring in those states post in the image gallery for these kinds of projects. Perhaps you'd just want to go through it? Are you familiar with the fishes already? It seems kind of silly to post it twice, and I'm short of time right now.

Let me know what you'd like to do.

scottefotay, I will post it when I get it together. Then you guys can pick it apart and let me know any improvements. Remember though, it's not an extensive manual. It has to be short and to the point.

Todd, thank you for your pictures. I would like to use the Redbellied dace and may use some others. I am familiar with some of the species, and I will let you know if I need clarification on some of their locations.

Gerald, thank you for the "Native Fish 101" Any materials that I use from it will be referenced to you. Thank you all for your contributions thus far, and I will continue to keep you up to date with my manual. I will let you all know if I need any other help with it. You guys are great!
