Harry Knaub, Gerald, Fritz, Zooxanthellae and several others are from that general Carolina coastal plain region. Also in FLA. Not sure about coastal GA.

I was in Winston-Salem yesterday and this morning. Things were ok but definitely got soaked and wind-blown last night and high rivers this AM. East of that in NC is flood central.

My folks' place on Hilton Head Island (posted about some of the fish there a while back)likely saw a 12.5 foot storm surge. Not sure when they'll be able to even go on the island to check on it.

Keep all these folks in your thoughts and prayers (like I need to tell you that)cuz this is pretty ugly.

I'm alive, and so are my fish! We had a lot of very strong wind, downed trees, and tons of rain. Just to the south and west of me however reported 14" of rain, and many of the rivers and creeks are significantly over flood stage. The amount of rain was, if you can excuse my use of the word in this context, amazing. Luckily, I had no issues in my immediate vicinity, and I had power come back relatively quickly. My power company told me today that many people should expect to be without power for at least the next 4 days, which is no fun.

I've heard through a mutual friend that Fritz is alive and kicking, but has no electricity!

I rode the storm out at the aquarium here in Charleston. All good here, only minor problems. Some damage and flooding around Charleston and power is out in some places still but for the most part things held up.

Hope your folks place is ok. Hilton head got it hard, as did Edisto.

No damage at my place; just lots of small branches down.  Big old beech fell on a house 2 blocks up the street.   My daughter’s wedding on Sat afternoon-evening was more of a wetting, but we moved it inside and it all went great anyway.   I was supposed to work Mon-Wed on a site east of Kinston (between the Neuse and Trent Rivers), but there's no way to get there now (flooded roads) and the hotels are shut down.  Sunny and cool all the rest of this week, but the bigger rivers down east are still rising.

Glad to hear you are well, Gerald. Heck of a day for a wedding!

Glad to hear Fritz, Stephen, and Scott are well, too! I had been pming responses so that way my avatar wouldn't be up here and people think that noone had phoned in yet. 5AM was a little rough today, I guess...
