The website has been updated with details from our convention host.

Click here http://www.nanfa.org/convention.shtml and then click on 'Meeting Announcement' to get the latest information... and ask here if you need more information and I will try to get it and update the site so that everyone has the information.

NICE! I am soooo hoping to finally make a convention. I figure if the Cubs can win the World Series, I might just have a chance this time!

I for one will testify that making the Kentucky Convention shortly after joining NANFA really went a long way to making me want to get even more involved. I've made some great friends in NANFA, and the annual convention has become my guaranteed way to see all these friends once a year. If anyone has been on the fence about making one of these, you'd be missing one heck of a time not going. Can't wait!

Very excited about this!  I'll make it out regardless of whether I'm living in Illinois or California in June.  Meramec SP sounds fantastic, and I'm really excited to see the Missouri River gravel bar species (sicklefin chub, etc) at the Pelican Island spot.

Anyone booked a room. I had someone contact NANFA on Facebook and is having trouble reaching anyone at the State Park.

Also if anyone is looking to share a room get with me.

I've attempted to contact them myself. They are not actively taking reservations right now. However, if you leave a message saying you are with NANFA, they will call you back. They are just on a limited availability with the holiday season. The website reservation should open back up soon after the first of the year.

Any luck with getting a room reserved yet?  I'm hoping to share one of the larger cabins, if anyone is interested in doing that, let me know.  I plan on being there June 8-12th.

I reserved my cabin yesterday.  I'm going to make Matt Knepley sign a contract that if he doesn't come he has to pay the whole bill, :)

The online registration is easy, after speaking to a very helpful girl at the park, I understood it better.  I can't wait for the convention.

I am taking bets on Knepley making it. 10 to 1 not going to show his face. Taking book on it now.

Are there gonna be enough campers to warrant reserving one of the group camping areas?

A bit after the beginning of the new year and after some tricky effort, phone calls, voice messages, website reviews, emails... i finally got a cabin reserved for a full week.  Be sure and mention NANFA especially if you are wanting a Meramec State Park Hotel Room, otherwise they may tell you the Hotel is booked up.  I chose a cabin because i will be staying a full week and wanted the comfort, kitchen and privacy it offers.  They have lots of interesting cabins, the really cool ones are built by the CCC but only have one bedroom / bed but also have a couch futon.  Other cottages are like duplexs which may offer more fitting lodging to organized NANFAns.  Study their site for details, photos and options.

For reference the Hotel is located right next door to the meeting facility ( Hickory Ridge Conference Center )

.

The cabins / cottages are about 3 to 4 miles away.

I will be commuting to this from house, almost by bicycle.  What is to be presented?

Hey Josh, are you still looking for someone to share a room? I don't think I can afford one all to myself with all the travel expenses and all.

I have a 2 bedroom cabin with a pullout couch.  I have myself and 2 others already rooming with me.  If I knew that there was room for a blow-up mattress, I'd say the more the merrier, but to be honest, I'm not sure about floor space.

No problem, had to check. Thanks anyways Josh.
