First pic is a female Elassoma evergladei. Also, flier are pretty when they are young, but look like washed out crappie as they mature and lose the ocellus.

A 1" flier is a dazzlingly beautiful fish. A half dozen is WOW-O-WOW. They have a green sheen to them (at least they do in my area) that's amazing ... not sure how to describe it, maybe dark wet emerald. The first time I caught some I had NO idea what they were, and it took a me a long time to figure them out. I haven't seen a photo of a juvvie that does them justice. (Get on that right away please, NANFA photogs.)

Scott, first of all great post and thanks for sharing. Those White Suckers we got in the Lynches were Notchlip Redhorse's, I have all the pics I took and it has far too many dorsal rays to be a White Sucker and along with the V shaped lip, have to be Notchlip's or V-Lip's.
