Here are my American eels I got in September of 2015. One of them had a deep cut on it's head. They were both eating right after I placed them in the tank. They were placed in a saltwater aquarium.

The baitshop I got them at told me they will die if he put water in the bag lol. On the way home I stopped at 7 eleven to get some water.

Nice.  How are they with tank mates?   I had a small one once that buried himself in the substrate.  I forgot he was even in the tank until l was breaking the tank down for the summer.  I found him as I was removing the substrate...still alive.

They are fine with fish that are to large for them to eat. Sometimes mine bury in the substrate too. I think it has to do with the water temperature but that is nothing more then a guess.

My water is yellow because it is getting treated with bifuran.
