Look how wide he gets that mouth! Definitely the alpha pred in his stretch of the stream. He also liked to thrash me with his head with his mouth open like that.

Creek chub and "good-looking fish" in the same conversation?? come on Matt, let's just stick to the Christmas darters, shall we?...haha I'm kidding, I've seen some colored up breeding males that were nice.

Ah, the humble Creek Chub. I caught this one on rod and reel in N. Wilkesboro last Spring along with spawning Bluehead Chubs.
