ID for a mussel

Found this guy yesterday in a drying pool from the Kaw river. The pool had a few gambusia but not much else. I moved him about 2 feet to the river and released him after photos, but I don't know what species he is.

It didn't appear able to fully close. But in about 5 minutes it had disappeared into the sand.

I've never seen a mussel so bright on the outside. At first I thought the floods might have polished it but it doesn't look worn

My first thought seeing it was Leptodea fragilis but looking at the umbo and wing in front of the umbo make me think its probably a Potamilus ohiensis
