Contact Joe B. at the state DNR to express interest in a something like a hobbiest permit that would allow limited transport of live fish to a personal aquarium.  He said that he would like to know about how much interest there would be.

What kind of response do you think he's received? Is this strictly an in-state deal, or would it pertain to folks who wanted to move fishes out of WI for personal use? I ran across some pretty neat Mud Darters in WI last year. Didn't even consider keeping 'em because I don't know the specifics but do know WI is restrictive in the rules in stuff like this...

I think it would be good to stipulate that hobbiest keeps the fish in a zero out flow system and have local biologist inspect before permission granted.  That is how we handle tilapia in Missouri.

Find ways for people not already interested in natives to value them.
