Hello, fellow forum members.

My name is Chris, 53 year old native of California, recently relocated to Taylors, South Carolina. In a former life, I was a fisheries professional involved in salmon and steelhead habitat restoration in rural Northern California. My new house in Taylors sits on the bank of a small tributary to Brushy Creek (tributary to the Enoree River). I recently splurged on a small minnow trap to see what could be had in my little creek, but I will post about that in an appropriate section of the forum. The fish assemblage in these parts is considerably more diverse than in California, so I expect that in the future I will be getting acquainted with many new and unfamiliar species.

Kind regards,

Chris

Welcome aboard, Chris! Always good to have another Palmetto-stater aboard. I'm not too far down the road, Ninety Six, SC. We have several members within a short drive of you here in SC, and also GA, and NC. If you want to get out in the water chasing fish, you might be able to twist of a few of our arms and get us out there. :) Look forward to seeing you around on the forum and hopefully in person, too.

Thanks for the welcome, Matt. I'm sure I wouldn't mind tagging along on any local expeditions, the better to get acquainted with the waters around here.

Welcome. While I'm down in the lowcountry, I still find myself up that way here and there.

Thanks, Todd, Stephen.

Stephen, I look forward to getting down to Charleston and seeing the sights. I love public aquaria. I just have to be sure to send the women folk off on some other excursion while I'm there, so they don't nag me to be finished.

Welcome to SC!.  I am the regional rep and, though I don't make it out as often as I like lately, try to get out a few times a year chasing fish.  Let me know if there is something you would like to see and I can likely tell you where to get it.  I hope to meet up with you sometime soon.

Just a heads up, do NOT expect to catch any fish if Matt K. goes fishing with you.  He may be cursed.  Apparently, his daughter's make up for his deficiencies though so if they're going, you should be good.

So what I'm hearing is you want MORE of Matt's Magic Fish-B-Gon Mojo...
