Hi all! I have a 24 inch container pond pot (which gets to the low 80's at the bottom on the warmest days) that I am looking for a container pond fish for. I already asked about Fundulus and Lucania sp, but...what other natives would work? I am especially interested in Enneacanthus sp, but don't hesitate to mention other ideas. (PS...this pond has no aeration, so no riverine fish!).

Can you shade it a bit more? Give you some more options. Add aeration and run it at night only, to cool it? Gambusia come to mind. I actually like them where they belong or contained.

Although most of my outdoor tanks, tubs, and ponds have aeration or some time of filtration, I have successfully kept wild mollies, melanistic gambusia, and heterandria in the same set up that you are describing (e.g., shaded tubs with no aeration here in Florida).
