I am working over the weekend, or I would love to meet up.

Aaaaaah! I'd love to join you Mike, but this weekend I can't. Orangespotted sunfish on my "priority want" list too.

Good luck though, and safe travels.

Stonelick Lake is not terribly far from you now Doug. Plenty there. They don't seem quite as attractive as some of the more northern populations in Ohio

Matt K: That was my reaction too, even before I saw your note/confirmation.

Matt DLV: You've been out'd. The jury of your peers sentences you to guide the Dougster to the good-looking ones some day.

Mike: Sorry you've had to bail on your own trip. On the more positive side, hopefully when you re-schedule, some of the locals will be available to handle the far end of the seine. :)

Well, that is the only population I know of within 45 minutes of you. So it could suffice.

I've seen Doug travel a long way for fish and good fish company so I'm guessing he's not limited to 45 minutes - especially now that he's been tainted with the idea that they are second rate.  [-(   You are going to hold out, right Doug?!!

That may be an all time NANFA understatement... as an unofficial Georgia NANFAn... I have gotten to a site late only to find out me that the guy with the 7 hour drive beat me, out collected me, and then drove home that night!

The O.P. Mike Lucas is the one who drives insane distances and is a master fish-catcher when he gets there. The King of solo seining. (Well, maybe A King, I don't want to offend any of you other members of the Wet Foot Division.) Mike also holds six (6 !!!) Guiness World Records for most coolers packed into a small vehicle.

No kidding. I couldn't fit that many coolers comfortably in a full size pickup. It is a model of efficiency.
