Hi,

My name is Amanda and I am a grad student at A&M learning as much as I can about native fishes.

I can't tell you how excited I am to potentially get to know all of you fine people- yes, I have been lurking for quite some time...

I had a bit of trouble for a long time getting an account on the forums but here I am!

Welcome aboard, hope you aren't near all the flooding.

Hi Amanda! Always great to have a lurker go public! Although since you reference us as "fine people", it is my guess you haven't seen me, Blaylock, or DLV on here... :P

Hope you and yours are riding out Harvey well enough.

Thanks! I am somewhat near it & my family is closer but we are mostly unscathed. Did put off some field work though...

Hey Amanda, glad that you are on with us now!

Thanks for all of your help!

Thanks! I am looking at a widespread North American minnow species and its close relative phylogenetically with molecular and morphological methods. I am focusing on tuberculation also and am learning as many skills pertinent to this as I can before my project ends. I love fieldwork though. I collected in Michigan last year and received much needed help from Bob Muller. I think that is how I found out about Nanfa. I couldn't have done it without his help.

Thanks! I have paid to be a member of Nanfa but not sure how to get it to not say "guest" on the forum... or how to access the journal (I have read a few that are available online and I am a big fan) but I will figure it out soon I'm sure.

The process for changing your status is manual and done be a volunteer here at NANFA. It'll change soon enough. Glad you like American Currents. It is a dues paying members benefit; once you are activated as a "member" you will access to other issues. All of the AC can be purchased on disc for reasonable pricing.

Fixed. You should show as a NANFA Member now.  And a few new subforums will show up for you now (a couple that are related to the business of running NANFA, and one that includes access to electronic copies of recent issues of our quarterly publication).  If you ever need anything else, feel free to PM me.
