Looks like a willow. If so, a branch, if it has any life left in it will probably start to root in water. Not sure about fish safe, but imagine it is.

It looks pretty gone. Would be pretty funny if a willow grew out of my aquarium thoLooks like a willow. If so, a branch, if it has any life left in it will probably start to root in water. Not sure about fish safe, but imagine it is.

Willow root like it is their job. Google willow water.

It certainly IS their job! We cut willow and silky dogwood twigs in winter, and pound them into bare stream banks to root and stabilize the stream bank.

Sure you do. I have a six foot mangrove growing out of a tank (ok its in the basement, not the living room, but its cool).
Wow. Nice! How do you light that thing, Michael?

Looking good! You've got a central filter system? What's in the tank with all the Mangrove roots?

The lower tank has other plants including another mangrove and Florida Flag Fish (jordanella). Above that is mostly just rocks and java moss and some flame chubs from BobM. Lower right is no fish, but Im trying to grow some different plants. Upper right used to be in the system until the great table saw disaster (dont ask).

Looks like perch duh! I thought you were the fish guy!
And a tree for a filtration system! That blows my mind lol. At some point could became too heavy for the tank lol.
Is now an appropriate time to say men are weird?

No, not really a good time.
Michael is well known in NANFA circles for his fish art (e.g., the green killifish profle) and his Fishmas trees. You can usually buy some of his artistic creations at the auction at the annual NANFA convention. (ooooh, by weird coincidence that's in Michael's state next year.) Ditto for artistic works by Mike Lucas and others. And I have a couple of rubber spongy bass just like Michael's. Although he looks to have at least three, and I only have two. Guess I have to pick up my game.

Michael rocks! He and I are tight as thieves. We go back at LEAST 2 weeks! (Remember that time, Mike, when you teased me because I have to delete my pics since I'm just a guest? 😂😂😂)No, not really a good time.

You refer to my screenshot tho I think which was attached to show Mark the types of fishes in the bottom tank. The baggies clearly label the flora while I assumed the art labeled the fauna. I can't wait for fishmas!!!
