From a roadside ditch near Havens Beach in Mathews County. There were lots of these, and lots of tannins in the water.

The only other catch

From a branch of Cobbs Creek off the Piankatank River. Brackish water, with I had thought to spread the tail out.  Not sure what it is, Fundulus sp. maybe?

Yes on Fundulus -- mummichog and marsh/bayou killie(?) are the most likely candidates.

Definitely could be mummichog they are everywhere in the warmer months, the marsh/bayou killie surprised me as my books don't list that in Va although looking around online it certainly is in the lower Chesapeake area.  Diaphanus is in the area as well although I don't know about tidal areas.  Reminded me of the lineatus in my tank but in Va those are supposed to be in the Chowan basin only. Thanks for your help, those juveniles are hard for me to figure out.
